I am not your rolling wheel, I am the highway

Friday posssstttt!!!

Come on, ya'll - I know I was so good this week with the posting, but let's get the readership out of the negatives, plz.

First up, this was just featured on design for mankind, but I am quite impressed with the work of Christina Vantzou. She does video editing, illustrations, print design, products design - the whole nine yards! This video is pretty cool:

How rad is this image? via nostalgie de la boue.

Glitz and Gibson - can't get much better than that! Makes me want to pick up my guitar and rock out!

Also, LOOOVING this from friends of type:

But I love everything from friends of type... so nothing new there.

Have a FANTASTIC weekend, people! I hope mine lives up to my pre-meditated expectations. And if it's not exciting, may it at least be productive!

If you really want to live, why not try and make yourself?

Sup?

LOV-ING THIS.

I really need to learn how to make GIFs like this. I'm surprised I don't know already. via friends of type.

This might be some of the coolest illustrated-animation I've ever seen. I totally dig the whimsical, sketchy feel of this video by Andres Salaff.

I am also all about this photographer/artist, Adrian Samson. SUPER impressive. Check out the commissioned pieces. via notcot.

That's all for today, y'all. Have a good one!

Oh wait, eye candy... how about some Ryan Reynolds. Did you know he's Canadian?

Jeeeezzzz... how much do you have to work out to look like that? I approve.

No sir, I will not call you Mr. Flintstone

Ok, back after the weekend.

I swear, I TRIED to make a weekend post, but Chrome was doing all kinds of weird things with sizing the images and I was too lazy to find an alternative. So deal with it.

I'd say this chick is pretty badass. via A Cup of Jo.

I can't think of too many things I'd want permanently inked into my body, but some sweet typography might appear on the list, along with a peacock feather, Snoopy & Woodstock, or a few bars of sheet music from Symphonic Dances from West Side Story. I think those are all good candidates.

I'm also seriously considering this one:

Next, this photo is a bit odd with the lighting, but I couldn't stop looking at it. via desire to inspire.

What an interesting entryway, eh?

I would kill for this room. also via desire to inspire.

The leather, the lamp, the sofa, the art... *drooooool*

Now we're going to have a WTF moment. Are you ready?

OBAMA NAKED WITH UNICORNS!!!

Kinky! Ok, now that you're completely disturbed, here's some eye-candy:

Mmm, Daniel Craig... lookin' all beat-up and Bond-like. Love it.

Yes, very nice.

Ok, now for those of you who live under a rock (or anywhere outside of the Mitten), you might not know about what's been going on with the Michigan State University logo/rebranding scannnndaallll of 2010, which, by the way, was featured on Brand New thanks to a tip from me (and probably a hundred others). Read about it. What do you think?

Have a good one, ya'll!

Oh no you di'int!

Holy cattle, my google reader is bursting at the e-seams!

Here on In Other Skies, we (and by "we" I mean "I" because I am the single, lazy contributor) try to maintain a level of quality and class. We can only speculate as to whether we've achieved both of those. What we CAN tell you, however, is that we will be posting more frequently, like back in the good ol' days a few months ago when there were like 4 posts a week. So GOOD NEWS... I have sooo much crap I want to show ya'll that there might even be some weekend posts for you to look forward to. GOODIE!

Ok, so first up... hmm... let me decide...

How about some sweet illustrations from artist Carolina Melis?

I can't remember where I saw this and my search came up empty, so just deal with it.

Anyway, she does some impressive embroidery and animation as well.

Love that little deer.

Next, I loooveee this picture from over at apartment 34. What a unique photo shoot!

I am wild 'n' crazy for that tree and all the shadows.

Next, this Indexed blog has me crackin' up. So clever.

Ultimately true, and good/bad depending on how you look at it. Wow, so profound.

Next up, I am really digging these spaces. All via desire to inspire.

Love the choice in colors, and the richness of like, every dang thing in the room.

These are all from this crazy brilliant entry featuring designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán. Wow, this guy's got some ideeaaaass.

Remember when I said I had a "thing" for stairs (and ladders)?

That mirrored wall is blowing my miiinnd! Love the lines, love the colors, gah.

Okay. Follow the link to that entry for the rest. I'm spent.

WHAT - WHEN DID JOHNATHAN RHYS MEYERS LOOK LIKE THIS? AND WHY WASN'T I AWARE? Kind of creepy, I have to admit. But I ain't mad at the bod.

I just caught a second wind there. If you're offended by the hips 'n' dips, just scroll back to the top for some legit, design-related bloggins.

Who am I? What am I? Where am I?

Those are some questions you may have been asking yourself while I was on vay-cay and being lazy, because you know this blog defines you. Readership is down 75-point-something percent! Now that's what I call readershit. So it's time to stoke that fire under my ass and get to bloggin' again! We'll see how this goes.

Ok, this one's just to get me going...

Zach Levi.

What a Hottie McHots. Yes, indeed.

But then sometimes he looks like a hobo...

Chocolate fountain? - Yes. Derelicte? - Nawsomuch. Still, I ain't mad at him. By the way, you should watch Chuck. It's really good, trust me.

Speaking of Chuck, he always wears a pair of Chucks (I am looking to buy some new ones - does anyone know of a cheap place to find them online?) to his job at Buy-More in addition to a spiffy tie. I would like to pull off a similar look, but fear I would look like a Avril Lavigne wannabe. But these tie-scarves are quite nice. via design verb.

I am all about this entry on Missed Connections. I'm just so curious as to how this occurred.

Hopefully you can click the image and see it ok. If not, follow the link. Anyway, who was this guy? A stranger, poppin' some chick's collar? I would be uncomfortable, yet completely entranced if someone did that. Especially while I was holding my boyfriend's hand? Just a cuuurrrious situation indeed. And stranger danger!

Ok, now ya'll gotta check out this video. The animation is adorable and very well-done. There is a crazy twist at the end you miigghhttt see coming, but it's worth it!

It's about time I get out of here. One of these days I'll do a legit post featuring some real interesting shit.
