Once you go rainbow, you'll hear colors.

Don't remember where I found this... but it's awesome.

I wouldn't mind having some literally 3D wallpaper in my room. Nope, not at all.

Next, we got some stuff via apartment therapy.

Objects Subjected by Michael Johansson. Interesting idea, though I'm pretty sure my mom has been doing this in our tiny kitchen for years.

Next, bitchin' wallpaper from The Wallpaper Collective. Yowza

Pretty awesome, right?

BAHAHAHA... love this:

Care Bears made of rice, carrots, and hot dogs (via boing boing)

Have a good one, y'all!

Oh, darlin'!

So I found some cool crap to show you.

I do a lot of wishing.

via friends of type.

Next up, I've seen this chick on the webz before. It's pretty mind-blowing, but I've never seen anyone cry at any of her performances... I realize there's some historical significance there, and she IS pretty gung-ho about throwing sand around, but whoa.

via love obsess inspire.

What is this madness? I live in a bowl carved in Swiss mountain? Yes. It's bizarre, but the interior is way baller.

via swissmiss.

That's it for today, folks. I think that was a pretty solid post. Now back to the grind of finals. Only a few more days left!

Now I'm dancing, feels like a dream - no end and no beginning

Today has been pretty awful. It has a LOT of potential to improve, however.

God help us all.

So this couch/chair looks like a blackberry. via apartment therapy.

So this is pretty cool. poster4tomorrow has decided on their top 100 posters. Most of them are very meh, IMO, but there are some cool ones.

That's all, y'all. Have a good weekend.

She's the energizer bunny of seduction

Hello all,

I have some interesting times up ahead. How about you?

First up, this cool chalk-animated music video via design is mine.

Next I'd like to share a new fave of mine - Regretsy. Ohhh lawwwddd is there some ridiculous crap on that website. One being:

Tassel and Studs Chic Shades:

Because you've always wanted vertical Kanye-shades, except to the extreme. Feel like you've been growing your bangs out for three years but didn't realize you could pin them back. WIN.

Next is Yellow Leather Halter:

I feel like this monstrosity was specifically designed to make me hork up this morning's mini-wheats back into my mouth. Look at the right arm... WHO IS WEARING THIS? An old lady, or a dude with some really shitty nice implants (and a wig)? Those veins look thirsty for some heroin, especially in that get-up.

And let us not forget the pièce de résistance,

7inch petite Pantyliner with flannel-Cloth Menstrual Pad-doggy love:

One of the commenters on regretsy said it best: "aren't we always trying to keep the dog OUT of our crotch?"

Ok. On a more intellectual note, this video/guy is friggin' brilliant. He developed a type-motion program that displays song lyrics in real-time and animates them based on several pre-set visualizations. IMPRESSIVE, SIR. IMPRESSIVE, INDEED.

TypeStar from Scott Garner on Vimeo.

That's all for today, guys. If you're in a snowy place, try to enjoy it before it melts and turns yucky-grey like it has here. <3

Hallo, spaceboy

There has been some rad stuff on the internets the past few days (they tend to stack up when you neglect to update your blog for a couple days...)

Anyway, get ready for some real cool shit.

First up, I just gotta post this because it blew my mindz. Erin of Design Crisis did a fantastic post today about rooms inspired by the mod artist Roy Lichtenstein. Click that big-ass link and feast with your eyes.

Next up I am freaking LOVING this type treatment genius via Friends of Type. I think I first saw this yesterday and each time I brought it back up my heart palpitated a bit.

Now ya'll should check out this crazy technological-free-hand-sketch-created furniture, realized through rapid prototyping by Front design studio.

That's it for now, ya'll. I'm ready for some R&R, and by that I mean tons of paper writing. YAY.

Bowie in space

So I'm on a Bowie kick. So far I've been listening passively; we'll see how it goes.

First up is a couple things via Pikaland. Love the blog, especially since I won that awesome giveaway a while back.

Check out this charming video about Santa vs. cookies:

Keep Out of the Cookies (an animation) from Jessica Gonacha Swift on Vimeo.

Second I just really like this illustration by Scott Campbell.

Pretty cool, eh? I want to have a picnic with some clouds.

Lisa Hanawalt's art has me cracking up. It's like Richard Scarry on LSD.

Oh and if you feel inclined to get me a holiday gift, I wouldn't mind some of these.

I waaaannnttsss. via swiss miss.

Have a good monday, ya'll!

Turkey Day!

Hello all!

Just a quick post because I'm feeling jolly and read to go home for T-Giv.

First up, I thought this was hilarious. Via Learn Something Every Day

Ok, but who do the turkeys belong to?

Love this little bunny.

via nostalgie de la boue.

This is awesome. Via Oh Joy!

K bye! And remember, like the news, Thanksgiving is better auto-tuned.

Prepare for froot beam transmission

First up...

AOL (or should I say Aol.) partook in some rebranding a la Wolff Olins. Seriously, AOL? Seriously anyone?

via brand new.

Next is Put This On: Episode 1 - Denim. I saw this somewhere way back and just happened across it again on vimeo. The people of Put This On aim to teach men how to dress like grown-ups. If they get the funding, they'll make a six-episode series, apparently. Check it out and learn about jeans!

Put This On, Episode 1: Denim from Put This On on Vimeo.

This photographer, Gabriel Jeffrey, is kind of blowing my mind. via notcot.

Later, y'all.

So you're back from outer space...

Fun weekend except for our horrific loss against Penn State.

Alrighty, some cool stuff coming up...

check out this cool tent thing from Apartment Therapy. Not sure what you'd do with it, because you can't actually camp in it. Oh well. If it were exceptionally nice outside or we emptied out the living room, I could see myself using this for something silly.

Next, for those of us who are woefully limited financially, here's a way to save a few bucks on Thanksgiving dinner - straight off the dollar menu!

via Wired, it's How to Serve Fast Food on Thanksgiving!

Love this silly type treatment via Friends of Type.

Really liking this, too.

Also, this is just freakin' awesome. Video from Yeasayer - "Wait for the Summer."

Your body is a wonderland (I'll use my hands)

Oh, John Mayer. What do you guys think of the new album?

I'll just put up some inspiring photography today - how about that?

(both via desire to inspire)

(not sure of the source... my bad, but I suspect nostalgie de la boue)

That was a Rebecca Ward installation via Oh Joy!

This is just hilarious, thanks Eric!

Later, guys!

Apathy is sexy

...and ain't it the truth?

Feeling under-the-weather today, folks. Let's hope it doesn't last!

Well, first up we've got this special video from behind the scenes of the December 2009 Arts issue of Vogue. It features Annie Leibovitz, Grace Coddington, Lady Gaga, and Cate Blanchett. (via Oh?) It's kind of like watching America's Next Top Model, but for real.

Next up is an awesome typography-based video via design work life. The first one is just entertaining. The second from War of the Worlds, the text is dynamic and animated to suit the audio accompaniment. Follow the link to the blog post - there are two more verrrry interesting typographical videos featured.

War of the Worlds Kinetic Typography from J.R. Schmidt on Vimeo.

Ohhh my gaahhhh check out the Vimeo channel, Nice Type. It blowz mah mindz.

Next is this (IMO) inspiring portfolio site from Douglas Menezes. I love the background art and the composition of the content areas. Anyway, I suppose I just think it's clever.

I'm also kind of digging this blog - MissDIOR COUTURE. Not sure what it's about really - just some cool collages and photography of some fierce fashion.

That's it for today, guys!

Look - some stuff!

Hey all.

First up is this crazy stacking-on-a-Lego video from Boingboing.

Next, this purple dress is kind of blowing my mind. via love obsess inspire.

For real. Get me some grey leggings and I would worrkkk itttt!

Also, you should check out Amy Casey. Can't recall where I saw her featured recently, but check her out!

Wow. Life is...interesting.

Alright, here's what's up for today...

I'll just reblog this post from desire to inspire. Each space is uniquely interesting and frankly, I'm tired.

Next up is the siiiccckkk photography of Bruno Dayan. Just a warning, the beginning of his portfolio site is definitely NSFW. But these photos are mind-blowing

Ummm..... whaaaaat? via love obsess inspire.

Oh, and this thing via boingboing pretty much freaked my shit.

Later, ya'll!

All I wanna do is be there for the things that you're goin' through

Hello all!

Yes, I've been slacking - sigh. But life is currently blasting me with all kinds of crap (both good and bad.)

Kinda like this...

But I have plenty to be grateful for and the future is bright (despite the black eye.)

Anyway, a mish-mosh of stuff for today...

First up is this cool 8-bit sticky note video. I've always wanted to do this on a wall of somewhere I live, but the cost of sticky notes may not outweigh the potential awesomeness.

Ich Bin 8-Bit installation timelapse from Jude Buffum on Vimeo.

Next up is this really cool photo. Plants as organs - wow! What a cool concept.

(via love all this.)

You're gonna love this. Here's some work by illustrator Lina Ekstrand. I am bonkers for her work. Every piece is sexy/stylish/dark and I love it....

(via simple blueprint like last week.)

That's all, folks! Maybe there will be another update tomorrow (granted I stop being a slacker...)

hehe... (via)

You're too cool for me, dude

Hello all!

Today is a weird day, yeah? Here's to hoping something wonderful comes along... there are possibilities, methinks.

First up, check out this video from Malcolm Sutherland. He makes some seriously cool videos. Found via OK Great. I don't quite get it, but I definitely enjoyed it. I wonder where the music came from and how they got it to sync so well with the animation...

Forming Game (HD) from Malcolm Sutherland on Vimeo.

These extraordinary bird photos have had me fascinated for at least half an hour. Andrew Zuckerman, you are the bomb-dizzle. Via swissmiss.

I love infographics. And hilarious flow charts. And there have been a surplus of them lately, one of my favorites being:

via swissmiss. Don't it just make you wanna kareoke?

Too much, too much

Hello all!

I've been feeling very blah lately, but here's today's post.

I saw this over on design verb. So crazy and hazardous!

Also, again from design verb, this just BLEW MY MIND:

This made me laugh a bit. via notcot.

Suck on THAT!

This is also cool, IMO. By Robert Samuel Hanson.

Later, y'all!

We'll all float on, ok?

We'll all float on, anyway.

First up, a GIVEAWAY via love obsess inspire.

It's a gorgeous necklace from White Owl. I find this peacock necklace to be quite fetch. [Gretchen, stop trying to make "fetch" happen. It's not gonna happen!"] Hop on other to see how to enter and win!

I really like this illustration by Michael Hsiung via share some candy. I want a beard like that.

This about sums up my life:

via share some candy.

On a different note - this doesn't really involve design or anything - but you should check out this awesome video on how viruses infiltrate our bodies from NPR. Love the narration and the animation is pretty fascinating.
