Buy myself a grey guitar and play

Today I've been noticing how much I like fur/skin rugs. I would never want one in my own home, I don't think, but don't they look nice?

This one especially. It doesn't even look like an interior floor. More like a swamp or something.

I am wild 'n' crazy about this bookshelf/entertainment unit. It's wonderfully retro and open. Love the grain and the color. Mmm.

Awww yeaaah!!! The Disco Dome!

If I had an iPhone (like I keep saying, I don't own an i-Anything) it would have a cover like this:

Too cool.

If you haven't been to "thx thx thx: a thank-you note a day," you should check it out.

I think this post is particularly fitting for this point in my life:

Fever!

Some cool stuff today, y'all:

I just happen to really like this photo:

There's an interesting part of an article on wikipedia about why there are so many water
tower things on the buildings in NYC:

"A distinctive feature of many of the city's buildings is the wooden roof-mounted water towers. In the 1800s, the city required their installation on buildings higher than six stories to prevent the need for excessively high water pressures at lower elevations, which could break municipal water pipes.[67]"

So there you go! Photo via sfgirlbybay.

I. WANT. THIS. KITCHEN!!!

How freaking gorgeous is that?! It's blowing my mind! via automatism.

Have a good weekend, all!

I still don't know what I was waiting for, and my time was running wild

I am such a neglectful blog-parent. I keep finding so much inspiration, but I don't have time to even do the stuff I have to do! Story of everyone's lives, eh?

Well...

Maybe, just maybe...

Today I was thinking about how much I love peanut butter. I was surprised to discover George Washington Carver didn't actually invent it, but he did put peanuts in like a billion other things and improve lives. You da man, GWC!

So I found some peanut-butter related stuff:

How adorably silly. PB&J necklace.

Who thought this crap was a good idea?

I'd like to meet the guy who greenlighted that one and give him a stern talking-to.

I also realized how often people use the phrase "goes together like peanut butter and jelly." Now, if I ever hear someone say that, I think I might have to punch them square in the jaw.

Next up, I really dig this room:

I often find myself torn between whether I like dark spaces or bright spaces more, but this has a lot of natural light and a LOT of wood, which we know I am in favor of.

That may be why I also like this one:

The colors are a little monotonous for my taste, but I see what they did thar.

And I've seen this room on nearly every blog I read. Probably because it's GENIUS!

I promise, some place I live in will be modeled after this room.

Lastly, this is just hilarious:

We need body rockin' not perfection

Another beautiful day here in EL!

I think this is just too hilarious/cute:

"I cannot love." "Really? Because your mustache says different." MUSTACHES CANNOT TELL A LIE!

I also really dig this:

Via The Selby, because it's just soooo awesome,

If there were a type of eye candy made especially for me, that would be it.

Next up, I am loving some furniture / design I saw over on sfgirlbybay.

Like this chair:

While I'm at it, this room is blowing my mind:

(from vintage-green)

Then there's this 3D wallpaper business. Freak out!

Check out Hanna Nyman. Very pretty stuff. via sfgirlbybay.

Isn't this just a smart room? Look at that. Mmmhmm!

...HOLY CRAP LOOK AT THIS THING. A thing of beauty...

One day, when I have my own place, I will own something similar to this. I swear to it. via apartment therapy.

I bet I could throw a KILLER party at this place...

Is that not a perfect party-deck? also via apartment therapy.

Next up, check out these crazy ribbon stairs. Terrifying, no?

I'd be trippin' all over the place. via here.

Next up, this video kind of blew my mind. It just keeps getting cooler.

Your beauty should stop traffic

Hello all!

I am exhausted and this sinus infection that won't die might be rearing its head again. *sigh*

Ok, so here's some stuff from The Selby, because it just never gets old and there's so much goodness I don't know what to do with myself.

Don't you just want to know this lady? She looks so ... brave?

Beautiful.

Mmk. Next up:

This bird video via all the mountains is just too cool.

Then, speaking of birds, check out these AWESOME bird houses from neat nests.

Finally, I WANT.

Turn my stupid question marks into simple candy canes

Hiiiiiii!

First I'd like to apologize for neglecting y'all while I was on Spring Break. I tried to update, I swear, but I was on Chrome and it's a bitch to upload pics with it. Try it sometime. Anyway, I tried for like 5 seconds and gave up. Boooo.

First up is this crazy video from Pleix films. They have some truly bizarre videos on there, but this was my favorite. E-Baby and Pleix Blog were some other cool ones. via design crisis.

I thought this was too cool:

I am all about incorporating tree motifs into interior design - especially something this cool! Things like this house in Austin, TX, however, I do not want:

Erin over at design crisis had the
pleasurehorror of touring this house last November.

"There is a TREE in the middle of the house — in the kitchen, for goodness sake, which is somehow even more offensive... Whoever built this patchwork piece of shit house built it out of plywood, cardboard and duct tape. The roof leaked all around the hole where the tree is, and a foundation was laid over the tree roots. Not good planning.
Plus it looks like sandworms from Beetlejuice are attacking the exterior of the home, and nobody wants that."

Hopefully some DIY-crazed lumberjack happens across that house and helps get its shit together. His darling, yet no-nonsense wife can redecorate and make it shabby-chic! Dunno what they're gonna do about the poltergeists, though. Maybe they will be very religious people and can perform an exorcism!

Yeeeaaahh! Man oh man, that post cracks me up EVERY SINGLE TIME. Click here to check it out!

This blog, Facedowns, is cracking me up.

Also, this shirt is just cracking me up:

So how was that for a blog post? Pretty adequate, I'd say. Yesssss.

We can't survive on your bedroom eyes and a spanish guitar

Hello all!

It's been an interesting day thus far. Yes... indeed. It's Tuesday! Which means Monday is over and we're a day closer to the weekend - namely (in my case) Spring Break! Woooooo!

I've found several interesting things over the past day or so, and I've noticed they've all fallen into a nice retro color scheme. I guess I'll comment on that later.

By now, I'm sure plenty of you have seen this Brangelina shoot from W magazine (2005) via whorange. Holy cow, is it awesome. So you're gonna look at it again! Except with my favorite photos from the set.

The topic was "a crumbling marriage" or something along those lines. Doesn't this just look incredibly awkward? No love. Also reminding me of a scene from A Single Man, except with a completely different mood.

What a gorgeous lady, even though I bet you'd be hard pressed to find a woman looking like her in the 60s. Makeup is right-on.

I wonder if this photo was a happy coincidence? I doubt it. Very interesting.

This is just SCREAMING Anne Bancroft in The Graduate. As if all of these didn't scream Anne / Mrs. Robinson right in your face.

This one is just so real it almost hurts.

Uh-oh. ACTING!

Creeeeepy. Glad he's leaving, though. What a shot.

Well, that was a downer.

How about now we take a look at some beautiful, fresh-retro interior design? Just a little bit. Here's the post from design is mine so you can check it all out.

Really digging this room in general.

I like all the elements that add color and what they're doing for the awful drab-ness going on there. Guh.

I want that painting.

Next, this cat's coming to kick your ass! Artist Lisa Hanawalt sure draws some bizarre stuff (mentioned in an earlier post here). I like it, though!

via my love for you is a stampede of horses.

*sigh* Today is going to be a weird day. I can feel it.

See you guys later.
