This sh!t just got surreal

Hey all,

Some uber cool, trippy, surreal stuff's gonna be featured today (not unlike any other day, I guess.) I hope the seat you're in is firmly planted in reality. Bolted down, perhaps?

First up is English illustrator, Iain Macarthur. I'm pretty nuts for his style. Very unique and creepy. Love the embellishments of color most of all.

Next check out Jasper Wong's portfolio/website. His work cracks me up. Love the colors and the silliness.

Last is this INSANE pod house from over on Apartment Theapy: Boston. I could totally live there. It would be a great place to throw parties. What do you think?

Be sure to follow the link to check out the cool interior!

Once in awhile, when it's good - It'll feel like it should

Late post today, y'all. So late, in fact, that it's tomorrow already!

Here's what's up, foo:

Gecko Stickers. The raddest collection of wall decals I've seen yet. If I had my own place and some spare change, I would be ALL OVER THIS.

Next, this is just badass.

Check out these cool mixed media prints!

You're the Sigmund Freud to my bat-sh!t crazy

Hello all,

There was some crazy good stuff storing up in my reader over the weekend, so get ready for some awesome posts this week!

First up is the Piano Stairs video, which I realize everyone has probably seen by now as it is taking over the blogosphere, but I figured I'd post it on here real quick before it becomes totally old news.

Next I'd like to inform you of this awesome giveaway!

Scoot on over to love.obsess.inspire to see how to enter!

Next, I'd like to feature the art of Sakke Soini on the Behance network. I love this style of art, and this guy does it really well. Love the electronicats!

And finally, just because it's that enjoyable:

“i have the choice of being constantly active and happy or introspectively passive and sad. or i can go mad by ricocheting in between.”

-Silvia Plath

Love that quote. Story of my [your] life.

Umm.... let's see, here.

First up is this cool typographic activity thing I've been seeing around the blogosphere, Bokeh Type. This entertained me for quite a while yesterday. (via designworklife)

Next is this photo. Not sure where it came from, but there's something about that guy that intrigues me to no end. He looks a little young, but I still wanna know him. Even if that makes me a cougar. (I'm more like a cougar cub.)

It wasn't until after uploading the image that I got the "Dorian Gray" reference. Shows how easily distracted I am when it comes to pretty boys in top hats.

Next is Beardfolio, which made me happy in unexpected ways. I admire these men and their commitment to excessive facial hair.

Now check out some sick typography from typegoodness.

That's all, y'all! Have a good weekend!

Okay, then

Since I neglected to update yesterday, I bet you're expecting something awesome, hmm? Well, whatever. I guess we'll have to see.

First up is Lulu's. They have some seriously awesome clothing, and a fair amount to offer in their "sale" section, which I'm a fan of. Haven't bought anything from there, but I've definitely ogled a fair amount of their merchandise. Design for Mankind is currently running a giveaway for a $100 credit to the store, so check it ouuuutt! I know what I'd spring for if I won - an awesome pair of boots and a dress! The problem is deciding which ones...

Next up is this hilariously awesome card case. I like to think I'm a "skillionaire."

Next is the work of Nikki Farquharson. I totally dig the colors, style, and mixed media-ness of her work. She's so smart in her arrangement of the media, too. Here are some of my favorites:

*edit - the images I had are broken and "forbidden," so you'll just have to click the link!*

Next, via Apartment Therapy: Boston, is this hella awesome guest bedroom.

I am severely digging that wall treatment. Be sure to follow the link and check out the thumbnails.

That's all for today!

Oh, why not?

Life can be a total d-bag sometimes, you know?

Anyway, here's what's up for today:

HELLO KITTY 35th ANNIVERSARY PROMO VIDEO!!!

It's cute, adorable, and satisfyingly Japanese. (via notcot)

Next is the portfolio of Michael Sanderson. He's created illustrations/advertisements for The New Yorker, Calvin Klein, and Marc Jacobs. Check out his portfolio! I think he's made some pretty unique stuff. (via designworklife)

*MICHAEL JACKSON SPOILER ALERT*

Ever wonder how he managed to lean at a gravitationally impossible 45-degree angle while dancing? Here's the youtube video where he performs it live ... it happens at 4:28 if you're don't want to sit through the whole video, even though it's awesome!

Check out how he did it over at boingboing.

That's all for today. Enjoy!
