Today I'd like to feature an artist by the name of Manoli Lopez. She's from Barcelona, her art is amazing, and she has pretty good taste in music, from what I gathered on her blog.
I need to find a way to get a giant print of this for my place. Seriously, brilliant.
The other thing I'd like to showcase today is an amazing video by animator/illustrator Javier Cuello. The title translates to "the house in small cubes" - and you'll see the significance of the title. The video is so cute and charming, yet deeply touching and quite sad. It's also a great metaphor for life and the trials we face as humans. I encourage you to watch the whole thing (it runs about 12 minutes, but I enjoyed every moment.)

I can relate very deeply to "The House in Small Cubes." I feel like I'm moving from one Small Cube that I have been building for the last year-and-a-half to another right now, and it is an exhilarating (yet challenging) transition. I like the imagery of the flood forcing the move from one cube to another, too--that's the (unpredictable) nature of life. Thanks for posting this - it is very inspiring!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is such a nice reprieve from the demanding (and at times, quite frankly, boring) course load of dental school. I know I can always go here to find inspiration and exercise the atrophied right side of my brain. Keep the posts coming!
Will do, miss. Tell your friends! I wouldn't mind having a following in Boston, haha.
